GOD COMMANDS ALL PEOPLE EVERYWHERE TO REPENT, BECAUSE HE HAS APPOINTED A DAY WHEN HE WILL JUDGE THE WORLD IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
Acts 17:30-31
God is the Glorious Creator. He made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them. He also created us with a purpose: to glorify and seek Him. But we have rebelled against God by sinning, doing things contrary to God's holy character and law. We have miserably failed to love and obey God and bring Him the honor He deserves. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." As a result, we are dead in our trespasses, and therefore we all deserve nothing but the just wrath of the Almighty. We deserve His righteous anger, which will banish us eternally to hell. We have not offended a little prince or a president of a great nation but the King of kings and Ruler of the universe. God is just and He cannot forgive the guilty one unless there is a payment for the offense committed. When we sin against the infinite perfect holy God even once, there is an infinite punishment for us, and only an infinite holy and perfect sacrifice can take the place for that punishment. Then...who is able to pay?
None of us--only God Himself! God for His own glory and in His gracious love sent His son Jesus Christ to make peace between sinners and Himself. God allowed sin to be placed upon Jesus Christ, the perfect and pure Lamb of God. He became a curse before God and died on a cross under the full force of God's holy wrath in the place of filthy sinners. On the third day God raised Him up, being exalted at the right hand of the Creator. God did all this in order to satisty His own justice, being able now to forgive sinners and save them from the wrath to come. Christ's death and resurrection is the ground on which Christ's forgiveness is given and He offers you Himself as your Savior. This is the only way you can be at peace with God. What should you do then? You must repent of your sins (turn from them and to God) and put your trust in the living Savior Jesus Christ for forgiveness and reconciliation to God.
The Bible says,
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand." - John 10:27-29
