Guard Your Heart Above All Else
Reading: Proverbs 4:23 — A warning that the heart is the source from which all of life flows, and must therefore be protected with great diligence.
Devotional: The heart is not merely the seat of emotion — it is the center of motive, belief, reasoning, and decision. Every sin that has ever played out through human hands, feet, eyes, or tongue first took root in an unguarded heart. This is not abstract theology; it is the daily reality of every person who names the name of Christ. To guard your heart is to take an honest inventory of what you allow in through your eyes and ears, what you rehearse in your mind, and what you permit to take root in your soul. Where is your heart most vulnerable today? Ask the Lord to reveal it, and trust Him to strengthen you there.
