Devotional Day 3: Mercy for the Doubting

Aug 20, 2026    Pastor Larry Skero Jr

𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹:

Not every person you encounter in spiritual darkness is a hardened deceiver. Some are simply doubting. Life has pressed them hard. Confusion has settled in where clarity once lived. Jude calls the believer to meet these individuals with mercy, and the Good Shepherd illustrates what that mercy looks like in action, leaving the ninety-nine to pursue the one who is lost. The gospel is not a weapon to be wielded over the struggling. It is a lifeline extended to the drowning. When you look at a doubting soul today, let your heart break before your mouth opens. Mercy before method. Compassion before correction.

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Is there someone in your life who is doubting that you have written off rather than pursued with mercy?

𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Reach out this week to one person you know who is struggling with doubt. Do not go with answers. Go with presence, genuine care, and a willingness to listen before you speak.
