Well, That Went Well! Devotional Day 2 - Living Water for a Thirsty Soul
Jesus offers the Samaritan woman living water that will become a spring welling up to eternal life, as described in the passage where whoever drinks will never thirst again.
𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥:
Every human being is in a cycle of returning to the well. We return to relationships, to achievements, to substances, to comfort, to entertainment, hoping that this time the bucket will come up full enough to satisfy. It never does. Jesus interrupts that cycle not with a lecture but with an offer. He does not condemn the woman for her thirst. He redirects it. The water he offers does not require daily return trips. It becomes an internal source, a spring that rises from within rather than a supply drawn from without. True satisfaction is not found in what you accumulate from the world. It is found in what Christ places inside you.
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: What wells have you returned to repeatedly, hoping they would finally satisfy the deeper longing in your soul?
𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Identify one habit or pursuit you rely on for emotional or spiritual relief that is not rooted in Christ. Replace it this week with intentional time in Scripture or prayer.
