Do You See Jesus Through My Service?
What does it truly mean to serve? This message takes us deep into the heart of servant leadership, drawing from the foundational account in Acts 6 where the first deacons were set apart to care for the practical needs of the early church. We discover that the office of a deacon is not a title of prestige or a platform for recognition, but a calling rooted in humility, faithfulness, and love. The men chosen in Acts 6 were described as full of the Spirit and wisdom, and their stories did not end at waiting tables. They went on to preach the gospel, plant churches, and some gave their very lives as martyrs. This challenges us to consider whether our own service is truly motivated by love for Christ and others, or whether we are quietly seeking acknowledgment. The message reminds us that the greatest servants are often found at the back of the line, quietly doing what needs to be done without ever asking to be noticed. As we reflect on this, we are invited to examine the posture of our own hearts and ask a piercing question: Do others see Jesus through our service?
