A Sanctifying and Protective Gospel

May 31, 2026    Pastor Larry Skero Jr

A sanctifying and protective gospel isn’t just a doctrine we admire—it’s a force that reshapes us, guards us, and calls us into a holiness that reflects Christ Himself. As we step into 1 Corinthians 5, Paul confronts a church that had grown comfortable with what Christ died to free them from. In this chapter, we see a Savior who not only saves us from sin’s penalty but actively protects His people from sin’s power by forming a community where holiness matters, accountability is love, and purity is a shared responsibility. This is a hard chapter, but it’s a hopeful one, because it reveals a gospel strong enough to cleanse, courageous enough to confront, and compassionate enough to restore.
