Good News, God Is For Us!

What if the greatest battle we face is not out in the world, but inside our own minds? Romans 8 pulls back the curtain on something staggering: God is entirely, irrevocably for us. Not cautiously. Not conditionally. Entirely. The passage walks us through a chain of divine action -- foreknowledge, predestination, calling, justification, and glorification -- and then asks a piercing question: after all of that, what could possibly stand against us? The answer, of course, is nothing. Not tribulation, not persecution, not famine, not the accusations of others, not even the accusations of our own conscience. The message confronts us with the reality that many of us are living as though God is still holding something against us, still keeping score, still withholding. But the cross settled that. The most painful decision God ever made -- giving up His only Son -- was also the most definitive proof that He would withhold nothing good from us. When we begin to grasp that, the complaints grow quieter, the fears lose their grip, and we start to look less like people bracing for defeat and more like people who already know how the story ends.
